Happy Father's Day

Happy Father's Day to a Dad who works hard, plays hard, loves his kids and will do anything to make sure they are taken care of. Thank you for all that you do and for being a good dad.

Our Flower Fairy

Maura had her ballet recital this morning. I think she was a little nervous because she was a little teary and would not let me leave the dressing room because she wouldn't let go of me. I was just about to give up and go home when her teacher told me to leave Maura with her and if she didn't settle down she would come get me. Maura settled down but she wasn't interested in performing for the first 5 minutes or so and she just stood there with a little mad look on her face (she is really stubborn). Eventually she warmed up and started participating in her recital. All of those little girls were so cute, especially my little Maura. I love her tons even though she can give me a run for my money sometimes.

Kindergarten Concert

Timmy had his Kindergarten concert yesterday. He was so excited for all of the parents to come and see it. He also had a part which he spoke very clearly...I was so proud. The program was full of songs and poems, which were very entertaining. At the end of the program each child was given a certificate and the principal told the audience what each child wanted to be when they grew up. Timmy said that he wanted to be a kindergarten teacher so he could teach kids math. Then they played a song about friends as each child took center stage one at a time and waved goodbye to all of their kindergarten friends and then scurried off the stage until the only ones left on the stage were their kindergarten teachers. It was really sweet. When the program was over we got to go to his classroom for refreshments. He was excited show Maura and I his classroom and all of his friends. It was a really fun day and I have to admit I got a little teary because my baby boy is growing up so fast and moving on to 1st grade. Where has the time gone? I wish I could just freeze him at this age. He is such a sweet, helpful, obedient, and loving little boy. I love him tons!

Timmy's part went "Here is a groovy version of an oldie but goodie." I was trying to switch cameras and I missed the first part of it.

Me and Topher

Dad, Alyssa, Mom, Kody, Topher and Maura

About two weeks ago my mom, dad, brother and sister came to visit for the week. We were so excited to have them. The weather that week was gorgeous so we were able to go to Palmyra, Niagara Falls, play mini soccer games in the back yard, and just sit around and visit. My kids totally enjoyed having their papa, grandma, aunt, and uncle here to spend time with them (especially Maura and her horsey rides). They miss everyone so much, so it means a lot when family comes. (I will post pics of Niagara Falls as soon as I get them from my little sis...hint hint).

More Mauraisms

We have learned that Maura says some really interesting things sometimes and when she does, I have to record them so she can see how cute she was when she was little. Here are the latest:

When mom, dad, Lyss, and Kody were here last week, we were in the car driving to Niagara Falls when Maura yelled/scolded from the back seat...."Dad, you better put your seat belt on or you're going to crash your head off!" All of us had a big laugh.

Yesterday she was eating lunch and I told her that she was going to be a good Mommy some day because she is such a good helper. She got a really concerned look on her face. I asked her what was wrong and she said, " I don't want get a baby cause I don't want a big cut in my tummy! I don't want the doctor to cut the baby out!" I assured her that she didn't have to have a baby any time soon and not to worry about it yet. Then she went on to say..."I don't want to get a different name when I get married either. I want the name I have." I told her that she didn't have to get married any time soon and that she didn't need to worry about it now. I had to chuckle to myself because I can't believe how much she picks up on and is aware of at such a young age. These little ones just amaze me sometimes.
