Happy Birthday Maura!

We had a birthday girl on Friday! Maura turned 5 years old. She was so excited (can you tell from that first picture?) She has been counting down for months. She had quite the eventful weekend. She opened her presents, helped mom make cupcakes, played with Jada, went to school and got to wear the birthday crown, went to bed, and threw up at 1:30 am. We were supposed to go to the zoo the next morning, but the wind was blowing about 50 mph and we weren't sure she would feeling well enough so we cancelled. Maura was devastated and was feeling really good so we decided to go to Chuck E. Cheese (no matter how hard we try to avoid it, it always sucks us back in). We ate, played games, ate cupcakes, and went home. We had a good day.

3. She loves to be a girly girl but also loves to play outside with the worms and snails.
4. She is really good at entertaining babies.
5. She loves to giggle.

Earth Day

For Earth Day at Timmy's school they planted a new tree. Each teacher was asked to choose one student from their class to attend the dedication. Timmy's teacher chose him to attend. He was then asked to share one sentence about why he liked trees. He was so excited to be chosen and to participate so I couldn't miss it. As the program started, I pulled out my camera to start taking pictures and my camera was dead. At least I had my cell phone. The quality of the pictures were poor but I least i got a record of it. I was very proud of him for writing his own sentence and saying it so loud and clear. He said, " I like trees because they give us fruit."

Sunday Best

I wasn't able to get the kids Easter outfits together until this week. I decided to just make Maura's dress and decided it would be fun to match her so i made myself a skirt too. I had good intentions of making the boys a tie to match, but I ran out of time. Its hard to tell in the pic but they do have a green pin stripe in their shirt so I thought it looked pretty cute. How could they not look cute right? (I might be just a little prejudice though)

Maura's Pre-K program

Last night was Maura's Pre-K program. She was so excited to get up on the stage to sing. She looked super cute and sang super pretty. We were a little sad we had to sit so far back in the auditorium, but we had fun watching her.(The videos are wobbly because Topher kept trying to climb onto my lap the whole time.)
Waiting for the program to start.

Keeping Busy

I have really been enjoying my sewing machine lately. My mom tried to teach me to sew when I was young, but despite her patience, my skills made the attempt futile. So, in the last couple of years I have been trying to use what my mom taught me and try to teach myself as I go along. At Christmas time I decided I wanted to to do something for my mom, mother in law, sisters, and sisters in law, (and Maura and Jada) so I made these aprons.
Here are my models: Jada, Maura, Mom, and Lyss

After Cassie had Taya, I decided to make her a nursing cover.

Here is the flower that I made so that Cassie could pin it on the cover.

I started these little skirts after T.J. started his 9 week rotation in Syracuse. I needed something to keep my mind and hands busy while he was gone, so I decided to make these for all of the little cute girls in my life (there were also two more but I gave them away before I took the pic). I had so many left over scraps from the aprons that I could let them go to waste.

These are the flowers I made for the girls to either wear in their hair or pin on their skirt or shirt.

And....Here is my cute little inspiration and model...

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

At the end of our Leprechaun hunt, the kids found their treasure (play dough, gold chocolate coins, and jelly beans)! Happy St. Patrick's Day!
