School Days

T.J. pointed out to me that I had lots of typing errors on my last post (that is what I get for trying to type with the kids whining at me). So this time I'm going to try and redeem myself. Me and four other moms in our ward decided to do a little preschool for our kids. They go every Wednesday from 9:00 to 11:30. Each mom takes a different week so we only have the kids at our houses once every five weeks. Today was Timmy's first day. He was so excited he could hardly stand it. As soon as he opened his eyes, he was rushing me to get him ready for preschool. We packed his back pack up with all of his supplies (crayons, glue, pencils, scissors, paper) the night before after he practiced cutting an 8x10 piece of paper in to tiny 1 cm pieces. Then this morning we packed him his superman lunch with a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, chips, grapes, fruit snacks, and a juice box. On the way over there he kept asking me why the bus didn't him up for school. He happily went right in and didn't look back. The whole time he was gone Maura kept asking me where he was and begging me to come pick him up. He was so excited to show me the papers he got from school and to tell that he learned about the letter A and the number 1. I think this will be really good for him and he will really enjoy it!

Catching Up!!

This seems to be the new thing with most families... it seems like a pretty good idea for keeping people up to date on things that are going on, so here goes.

We've had a busy summer. First was Maura's birthday. She is really into Disney stuff and princesses to we had a princess party theme where she got a princess scooter, Tinker Bell chair, and a Minnie Mouse. Timmy also had a birthday this summer. He is also into Disney stuff so he requested a Mickey Mouse cake. He got things like transmormers, play dough, and pre school stuff.

Not long after that we found out that we were going to have baby #3, or "the blob" (see ultrasound picture. We were excited and a little worried about being out numbered, but I think we'll be ok. We'll find out if its a boy or girl in a couple of weeks so keep looking for updates! Timmy wants a baby brother and Maura doesn't care (or probably doesn't understand what's going on), but I have a feeling she's going to have a hard time when she's not the baby anymore. It's so sad to grow up!

We went to the beach in June and had a pretty good time. The kids were dirty from the time they got out of the tent from the time they got into the wash tub at night, but they had a really good time. Timmy got sick about half week with some kind of stomach bug and was running a fever and was really grouchy, which made it hard on mom, but we all survived. Before we went out to the beach T.J. got this idea for all the boys to buy newer and bigger airsoft guns. Well when they got them, they looked like machine guns, which made them a little nervous to go battle it out. The younger boys wanted to go out the next day we were there, but no one could keep T.J. out of bed before 7:30 or 8:00, so it got pushed back to later in the week. It was so funny to see these guys so serious about getting all geared up and making sure their glow in the dark balls were ready. There were no fatalities, but some busted lips and some bruises. (Sonda---if you were wondering why we couldn't keep the girls off of Nathan....this is why! :) )

About a week after we got home from the beach we went to our family cabin up on Mt. Graham. I was jus about tired of camping, but it was fun to go. Last year we got flooded out, but this year was so hot, it was almost unbearable. During the first 10 minutes we were there, Maura tried to go down the cement steps in front of the cabin, and landed face first. We felt so bad for her, but she only cried for 5 minutes and was ready to go play again. It was fun to hike around the "loop" and to the big rock with all of my brothers and sisters like we've done every year. I hope that we can keep doing it for a while.

We also went to Snowflake for a weekend. The kids always like to go because the weather is so nice they can play outside all day and ride the horses. Timmy also loves to feed the horses every morning with Papa and had it all down pat by the time we left. I love to see them get out and enjoy the country life.
